Rooted in Community. Powered by Sisterhood.

The Sisterhood Initiative (SI) is a cohort-based program that promotes success in being your authentic self. We provide opportunities for academic, personal, and professional growth to all individuals, with a focus on the needs of underrepresented women of color at the University of Washington.

Our Mission

The Sisterhood Initiative amplifies the brilliance and leadership of Women of Color undergraduates, fostering a community of radical care, growth, and connection that supports them in thriving across their academic, personal, and professional paths.

Why Sisterhood?

We believe brilliance deserves community. Through radical care, meaningful relationships, and holistic support, SI creates a place where Women of Color undegradudates can thrive together.

At SI, you’ll find a community that celebrates your experiences, invests in your potential, and walks alongside you throughout your UW journey. Whether through mentorship, leadership opportunities, wellness programming, or shared experiences, Sisterhood is a place where you can show up fully as yourself and know you belong.
